Oils are important in construction and mining industries because they are necessary to keep heavy machinery and equipment operating smoothly as lubricants, hydraulic fluids, and coolants. This calls for using oils because they play a vital role in the performance of heavy machinery (excavators, bulldozers, drilling rigs among others) that are used under extreme conditions which include but not limited to high loads, dust and temperature changes.

In the mining industry oils can also aid in effective and safe processes. An example would be when special oils are applied during drilling so as to cool and lubricate the bits making them last longer and work better. There are harsh environments within mining sites like where you will find water exposure, chemicals as well as abrasive materials necessitating oils that have resistance against oxidation, corrosion as well as emulsification.
